We’ve never been so grateful about the title of the movie. Also, we talk about an actual good horror film, Barbarian. Please see one, and ignore the other.
Also, welcome to the Cabin Chronicles Vol. 2
Enjoy!

Roy decided to kick off our month of horror movies a little early by selecting Halloween 2 as his movie night choice. Can this immediate followup to the original capture the same magic? Absolutely not. Is it at least a serviceable horror movie? The answer to that question is the crux of this episode, but our opinions definitely vary. Regardless of what we thought, it dis kind of make us want to revisit this franchise.

On this very special director spotlight edition of COtR, the four of us break down almost the entire career of John Carpenter. The movies we love, the movies we hate, the movies that surprised us, and James Woods not being a very good actor…all of it is on the table. Is it possible that one of us doesn’t like one of Carpenter’s absolute classics? Is it possible this happens more than once? Yeah, I mean I probably wouldn’t have asked if the answer was no.
We hope everyone has safe, socially distanced, Halloween.
Enjoy!
Should we have posted our episode on the new Halloween movie last Wednesday…on Halloween? Maybe, but I bet there were tons of people making that obvious choice. Instead, we are giving it to you in November, that way Halloween can live on in your hearts well into Thanksgiving.
Enjoy!
We take a look at some of the movies you've been seeing trailers for over and over and over again. Is it naive to be cautiously optimist about all of these movies? Maybe, but I will never apologize for wanting every movie to be good. Maybe not Aquaman.
Enjoy!
So we decided we would do a little something extra for the month of October. In addition to the weekly show, we will also have several horror-centric episodes. These will probably (we're making this up as we go) consist of a list of horror films that we feel like people should watch. Not necessarily our all time favorites, but just whatever strikes us at the time.
First up, Roy King. His list leans a little more to the nostalgic, light hearted side of horror films, but if you've listened to any of our episodes, this shouldn't surprise you. Please feel free to reach out and let us know what some of your favorite horror movies to watch this time of year.
Enjoy!
How do you judge films from 1978? Is it based on how well the film stands the test of time? Maybe by how the film resonated with the viewer the first time they saw it? We tried to land somewhere in the middle, with varying degrees of success. And just to prove that some things never change, we found ourselves arguing over the merits of Man of Steel...again. I am not sure that particular debate will ever run its course. Do you have a year or theme that you'd like us to visit? Send us a message on Facebook or email us at comingoffthereels@gmail.com
Enjoy!
