This week we are talking about the new comedy/thriller, Companion. Just in case you don’t know what this movie is about, but still want to see it, we will not talk about any of the plot points in this post. But we did largely enjoy this movie, even if we don’t care for all or one of the actors, and their very punchable face.

This week we head back to the woods with one of the films we watch during the Cabin Chronicles. We use the word “film" because “movie” just doesn’t seem to carry the same weight, especially when speaking about Airheads. It was pretty apparent early on that Brendan Fraser was destined to be nominated for an Oscar, and while we are happy for his recognition in The Whale, some might say this was an even more powerful performance.

We are back with another episode we recorded as part of our “Cabin Chronicles”. This time are we went with the 1991 comedy, Oscar. It had been a long time since any of us had seen this one, and there may have been a little trepidation from some in the crowd. Roy seemed confident that this was still a movie that was still worth watching when he chose it, but we all know that he is the most optimist movie watcher out there. So sit back and listen as we break down our thoughts on this oft requested film.

We had a lot of concerns about this week’s pick. Comedies seems to age poorly, especially ones from this era, where writers didn’t care if their scripts were overtly racist and homophobic. Naked Gun was not nearly as bad as we thought it might be. There were still some cringeworthy parts, but mostly just because the jokes seem to be geared towards the “13 year old kid who was watching this after their parents went to sleep” crowd. That also happened to be our kind of movie as well.
